It might be that the new product timing was determined by the Federal Communications Commission.

Among today's new product announcements were updated Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme hardware. These involve wireless communications and thus must have FCC approval. It was known that Apple had filed for FCC approval months ago; however, yesterday the FCC announced their approval.

So who set the approval announcement agenda – the FCC or Apple?

PED, it is a well written piece that covers much interesting ground.

But you so missed the scoop on this issue. I think we all understand that. And this isn't the first time.

If you want to stay at the pointy end of the cutting edge of journalism, you must lift your game.

I want to know about snow leopard server BEFORE it gets released.

I'm thinking it's time to retire the old IMac and get me one of those $600 minis.

It's hard to believe what I paid over $2400 for in 1984 dollars (albeit my first Mac included a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse) versus what I can now get for 1/4 the price in 2009 dollars – almost exactly 25 years later!!!!

PED, it looks like they just updated the Apple Store! They claim new iMacs, Power Macs, and yes, Mac minis.

$1500 for 24" iMac 4GB memory, 640GB HD, GeForce 9400M and 2.66 CPU.
