Shameless advertizing in your comment, Edward Crowley. A google search turns up that you are the founder of Photizo group. :)

Any other studies that your company did that we should read?

When is HP no longer a US company? They've sent 75-80% of their work force overseas and they'll send more. Get the facts here people. This is not a US company! It only serves Mark Hurd, the board of directors and few investors who can buy and sell the stock on an upswing. American workers are hardly in this picture anymore.

PG executives tout the good relationship, but the feet on the ground will tell a much different story. A grueling relationship with P&G wanting more than the contract is willing to deliver and HP reprimanding workers who deliver more. Outsourcing pieces of IT works well, but doing it in such a way that you leave no entrenched knowledge doesn't work. Lot's of skeletons in the PG/HP closet.

HP is doing very well in one area of outsourcing - Managed Print Services. A recent study by the Photizo Group (http://www.managed-print-services.com) indicates that HP and Xerox are the two leaders in outsourcing printers, copiers, MFP's, and document workflow / management (collectively called Managed Print Services). So while there clearly are risks associated with the EDS acquisition, HP at least has a 'proof of concept' for successfully managing an outsourcing business.
