Doesn't Microsoft have more than double Apple's cash? I think I last heard $60B and they're using some of it to buy treasury stock because they think there's not much out there that's worth buying.

They may as well as of sprinkled sulphur on her eggs because such decadence ensures eternal damnation.

Big old tech will survive the crunch because their SW is established and mature, although it doesn't come close to working as seemlessly as promised and it doesn't do alot of what was promised either.

Most people who work for these companies are simply supporting bug ridden trash that 'kind-of' gets the job done but not without alot of pain for those forced to support it.

Hell what do you think I'm doing now?

Dell's marketcap is "only" 22.54 B as of Oct 24. It would NOT be too much of a stretch for Apple to acquire

Buy Dell? Dell has a lot of cash on hand too and I wouldn't call them a troubled company. That statement rather killed all credibility this article may have had for me.

You're on the right track. I've recently talked to two startups whose VCs have either pulled the plug or said they had to become profitable with existing funding. Alternatively, companies with projects that bring about savings or opportunities are accelerating those projects.
