		<description>Here we are in April 2009 and he has managed to cut the stock price in half and double his compensation. I&#039;d say he had the makings of a top notch CEO all along.</description>

		<description>I find it outrageous that execs get these levels of compensation whether they actually deliver results or not, or even if they resign from a company.  As a former MOT employee (laid off in 2001 along with about 60,000 others), I witnessed constant &quot;reorgs&quot;, which did nothing but cause confusion and destroy employee morale, as management chased after the new strategic flavor of the month.  They also exploited the hell out of H1-B visas (and foreign workers), while claiming that they couldn&#039;t find suitable US workers.  What a crock.  All the downsizing / outsourcing has done nothing except reward the execs for being so clever.  Now that the US economy is in the toilet, AMERICAN WORKERS can&#039;t find jobs (they were given to H1-Bs and L1-Bs, remember), so they can&#039;t afford to purchase MOT phones anyway.  OOPS!  Guess that business model needs a little work, huh...??</description>

Sanjay is going to come in and hopefully clean house on a company that has struggled with two fundamental problems for the last 5 years:  an inability to pick a decent chipset vendor, and an inability to sort out its software platform strategy.  Sanjay will see through the crap that still remains in much - but not all - of Motorola&#039;s management, and if anyone can turn it around, it will be him.  Or, he&#039;ll die trying.  He&#039;s a fighter and a proven winner.  A lot of Motorola senior execs are in for a real awakening.</description>
