Well, Jobs did say "3 to 4 years to design it." Last I checked it's been only 2. More like making a case about nothing.

From Jon Fortt: No, he said to have it built.

Looking at 1 Infinite Loop, the buildings occupy less space thatn the car park. How Californian!! All they have to do is build a multi storey carpark, and reuse the land for more buildings.

I drive by the new campus location daily on my way to and from work. The old Tandem buildings are being occupied and undergoing upgrades and remodeling. The buildings on the new campus site all have official Apple signs and cars in the parking lots.

...it looks like the whole ordeal drag on a bit longer...

Isn't "ordeal" perhaps a bit too strong a word? I wouldn't usually characterize a company's positive growth as a painful or horrific experience.

From Jon Fortt: Fair enough. I was giving a nod to Jobs's tone when he said Apple paid more than it would have liked, and was looking forward to having the campus finished. (See above.)

But you might want to include the fact that Apple has already started occupying the existing buildings that were on this land. There are multiple departments already taking advantage of this new campus even though the final campus has not been designed and built.
