That's just dumb… Gene Munster works for Piper Jaffray… he IS an independent opinion. Apple doesn't have any analysts that comment directly to the public. I don't think any company does. What the article means by "Apple ANALYST says" is an independent analyst covering Apple says.

I suppose if you wanted to, you can get your Apple information from an independent analyst covering McDonalds….
