lol…the iPhone gets gadget of the year? only in america can a rip off of existing technologies be wrapped in a shiny bundle and get 'gadget of the year'.

am i the only person with vision that can see A CELL PHONE THAT DOES THE SAME AS A DOZEN OTHERS IS NOT A 'GADGET OF THE YEAR'.

as a matter of fact, the only thing the iPhone has that is different from other devices is the OS. now it is a nice OS and that makes sense seeing as apple has been writing OSs for over 20 years (they have to get it right at some point don't they??)….but gadget of the year; lmao…IT'S CLOSER TO PAPER-WEIGHT OF THE YEAR.

anyone can wrap a 'Piece of Chit' in a shiny wrapper and trumpet it as the newest technology since the space program……

again, i'm glad i'm not the typical lemming of society…..you R-Tards keep buying the re-wrapped technology of yesterday and call it the gadget of the year….

i mean lets think of it…what makes the apple products useful to so few?? it's because they are built for retards that in most cases lack even the most basic of common sense.

don't get me wrong…i've used apple products over the last 25 years (never bought any apple products though…i could never convince myself i was that retarded) and with so much experience using their products i can still conclude, apple brings up the rear with simple minded products for those very few that need a challenge for their simple minds.

Great blog. And great point about naming. Tech companies either go too light, and non-descriptive, or too tech heavy – roman numerals ETC. Apple has a great ability to market themselves. Disney also has this ability to get their brand out and about, resonating and looking good. I think it is fair to say Microsoft doesn't actually know how to compete. They win by being bigger and 'badder' and meaner at this point. They will face blow-back and many other companies will prosper because of that.

Keep dreaming Murph. 90+% of all PC's are shipped with MSFT operating systems. That won't change anytime soon. Keep fighting that battle though. Apple may crack 10% in market share one of these decades. And good luck selling iPods when there is no content left on iTunes. Outside of delusional fanboys who are "loyal" to a web store, rational consumers will gravitate to where the content is. AAPL is priced for perfection. $650? You realize it's at $192 right now, right? Where is all this growth going to come from?

Apple is winning the Apple vs Microsoft battle. I can say Microsoft Won the first round, but is losing BIG TIME to Apple front in iPods, Mac OS X and the best of breed iTunes.

Apple stock is heading to $650.00 by 2009!
