Most of these iWhiners actually lose signal strength because they were screwing around with their phone trying to unlock it. Typically, to do so with a new 1.1.2-based phone, you have to downgrade the OS (and also the modem firmware) to a previous version and then hack into it. It wouldn&#039;t surprise me at all if many of these problems stem from people installing incompatible versions of the iPhone OS and modem firmware, which of course magically go away the moment they restore the phone to its factory-state.</description>
