I see now that IE* has 'safe browsing' – gee sounds familiar dont it.

After using windows for years, my little mac is so much more stable. It's not perfect, but I dont have to wait for running virus programs anymore.

PED: As others have pointed out and the release notes clearly state, what you refer to as the "core data" bug has been fixed. It's been several hours and still no correction on your part. The more generous of us would say you're taking your time to verify this before correcting your article. The more cynical of us will say that you haven't posted a correction because you're more interested in spreading FUD.

Which is it?

If I ever have as much problem (his dad's iMac) as he claims from any product, common sense dictates that the first thing anyone would do is to return it and have it replaced. But then he won't have a story to tell :/

ex ped: He did return it. The replacement also froze. It's in the story, if you'd bothered to read it. I don't know why you find it so hard to believe that even Apple can make products that have problems. To their credit, Apple support spent hours on the phone with my father and eventually the company sent out a firmware update that seems to have cured his machine. –Philip Elmer-DeWitt

The core data bug referenced, which is about moving files between partitions, is listed as fixed in 10.5.1, see the first item under "system and finder":

In the release notes for the update – it clearly states that the "core data" bug is fixed in this release (I assume you are referring to the Finder copying to different Partitions data loss bug). Would help if you read the release notes before writing an article on it.

Please revise your text – I think its great it only took them 2 weeks to do this – usually its a month.

Such a fitting hyphenated last name, as you perpetuate such "FUD" re: your father's new iMac freezing issues- read that previous article and sure would like to know how he ever "survived" without your help when he was a Windoze user. God help him if he had ever needed tech support from Dell, experienced a BSOD, experienced any Virus infections that contaminated or wiped his hard drive (yes, even with virus protection programs running), or would have been forced to "upgrade" to Vista when buying a new Windoze box.

How much is Micro$oft paying you?
