Microsoft has a good product they just forgot about a few key business drivers! They better learn from leading vendors like CISCO and offer a hardware component to the solution (ip phone) because people are going to be pissed if they need to call for support on their computer and they can't because the computer is toast!

Can I run Phone Software on an Apple to more reliable? I just spent the last 4 days with my Microsoft Windows XP computer at 100% CPU for some reason. I would hate to rely on Microsoft for Software to run my phone system.

Responding to the comment of Nick, Redmond, WA.

It would be interestingly funny if their new solution offers us to set various Online Statuses - just like the IM clients if you don't want to be reached. The other thing they should possibly do is provide 'Stealth Settings' for you to be offline (invisible) to selected contacts, eg. your boss after 5 pm.

Unified communications is a great concept that has already been implemented by many telecommunications companies. I'm a subscriber to one, PhoneFusion.com, and it easily integrates with Microsoft Outlook.

Microsoft needs to keep up with other companies that have already added unified communication software to their products.

Microsoft should learn to answer the phone itself when it's customers call in for help before it claims it can help the world.
