SanDisk's new Sansa View vs. iPod nano (Photos 1-4)

Sansa View
THE LOOK. SanDisk (SNDK) is still chasing Apple's (AAPL) iPod line, and the company today announced the Sansa View to compete with the iPod nano. The View has a 2.4-inch screen, with resolution that's the same as the nano's 2-inch screen – 320 x 240. The View also has a built-in microphone, plays FM radio and displays photos up to 16 megapixels. View the gallery for a closer look. || NEXT>>

Oh by the way, the Sansa View is 4.29 x 1.95 x 0.35 inches

The Nano is 2.75 x 2.06 x 0.26

Now, do you *really* want to make a value judgement that smaller is better if this is something you're supposed to actually LOOK at? Perhaps we could make a media player the size of a postage stamp and that would be… better?

The critics need to become better informed. Yes the Sansa is slightly bigger than a nano because…well…it has a larger display for one thing. The Sansa spec also claims longer battery life than Nano. And – it has twice the capacity for the same exact price. Good luck loading any kind of substantial video content onto your 8GB Nano.

Is that a Sandisk in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?

Are you kidding me…you're telling me you want the UGLY Nano, the FAT BOY if you will? Even the staunch Apple fanboys like yourself hate the look and size of the new Nano. This Sansa View on the other hand appears MIGHTY sexy.

WOW

Note that SanDisk conveniently makes zero mention on their webpage about this device's size. If they tried to compare size to the new Nano, they'd only embarrass themselves further. This sucker's comparatively huge!

iTunes vs Windows Media Player? Song ownership vs. exploding subscriptions? Gimme a break. Let Sandisk chase Apple all that they want. As long as they're slaved to the gawdawful Microsoft UI and their losing business model, they'll always be chasing Apple.
