New iPod nano: up close (Photos 1/5)

iPod nano
(1/5) VIEW THE GALLERY. Apple (AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs on Wednesday brought a new look and new features to the company's most popular iPod. Not only should this give Apple a boost heading into the holiday season, it's an answer to competitors like SanDisk (SNDK), Sony (SNE) and Microsoft (MSFT) who are hoping to whittle away at Apple's market share. The new nano comes in four colors, and offers a few design changes. Click on for our up-close look: || NEXT>>

I don't like the new Nano's design – Short, stubby and ugly where the "old" nano was Long, thin and sexy.

Maybe it will grow on me but adding a small video screen at the expense of design and useability seems a poor trade. If you need video – get one of the other IPods but leave the Nano as a purpose-built music machines. Am I off base here? Is this as obvious an attempt to sell more video at ITunes as it appears? /AppleJack
