Nokia's answer to the iPhone (Photos 1/7)

| (1/7) Nokia (NOK) unveiled its line of multimedia phones, its attempt to take Apple (AAPL) and its iPhone and iPod lines head on. Nokia, the global leader in cell phones, has relatively modest share in the U.S. market, where Research in Motion (RIMM) leads in advanced phones and Motorola (MOT) leads overall. Today's announcement also puts the major U.S. carriers, Verizon (VZ), AT&T (T), Sprint (S) and T-Mobile (DT) on notice that some powerful phones are on the way. The lineup: |

OK, look. don't say silly things about which you do not know. I have the Nokia N95, N93 and a few others. I don't have an iphone but play with them at the apple store and know people that have it. It's great. It addresses very real downfalls in most phone designs out today like fast, uncluttered and assumed usability. The maps for example are much faster and easier to use on the iphone then on my N95 which is touted as the most amazing gps/map phone out there. I love my Nokia phones but I also love the iphone. redheads, brunetes, and blondes—they all get me going.
I second what Dan says. Their products are unreliable. Oh yeah and that Apples don't crash belief is complete myth. It has hapenned to my Imac more than once. I am soon gonna go back to the Dark side. PC Fanboys……I'm Back!!!!!!
It's a mismatch!!! iPhone? vs Nokia. Motorola? vs Nokia. Shame. USA come to ur senses. You may be advance in other tech areas but cellular tech & consumer electronics, autos? Better keep quiet. When ur in Asia, dont brag bout ur US made phones. They're obsolete when you see what people carry there. You're even behind in 3G. Asian & European mobile phone users r seeing each other in their phone screens live when they talk. D Nokias being sold in US market r d old models no longer use in European & Asian markets. Let d world b d judge. Have u ever wondered why cel phones of Nokia, SonyEricsson, Samsung, LG dominate d world market, simply bcoz d rest of d world know the tech & quality of these phones r superior. We're not yet even talking here of d phones used by d Japanese. For iPhone fanatics, get hold of d latest Nokia N95 on one hand, iPhone on d other. See w/c one you'll gladly take if only one will be given u for free. I'll take d Nokia w/o thinking. But that's my choice. Who am i anyway? Who cares what i say? But this whole exercise is really a great way of wasting time, aint it folks?
This is no where close to the iPhone. I thought the post on Engadget showed one which look exactly like the iPhone.
Here is my post around the imitators

Lets face it, iPhones are esthetically nicer looking but they don't do all which they should. The same can be said about certain MOTOROLA phones offered by Verizon. This Nokia is just another fancy looking phone which will probably be long forgotten just like the iPhone will in about 2, two, yes TWO years. IF THAT.
I am done with apple. 3 broken ipods and a dissapointing iphone later and I am counting the months till the damn contract expires. Apple is due for a major fall from grace.
They didn't "answer" it, they copied it but only superficially. Knowing what dung they and the rest of the mobile phone dinosaurs have been shoveling onto the market for years, I doubt this will live up to the hype. then again we won't even see it for over a year so it will likely change a lot by then.
oh, and JimN is a crackpot who doesn't know his facts when he says regarding Macs: "…but you'll never catch me buying one…i just cant bring myself to paying twice the cost for half the power and capabilities."
Want the facts instead of the ravings and delusions of a PC fan boy ? Google "computerworld Mac cost PC" and see for yourself.
who said it looks like an i phone u retard hatebiz??
lol….yea i want an apple phone that does half of what my current phone does for 10x the cost…lmao…u R-tards are too funny.
at least this nokia phone does alot more than the lamer apple phone…."gee, lets put an iPod with a basic cell phone and charge 10x the average cell phone price…Oh, by the way, it only does about 50% of what the most common phones can do today."
i've said it before and i'll say it again…apple phones will never get much of the market…they are too limited in functionality for the exorbitant cost, much like their computers.
they are a niche product….for the RETARDS that dont know how to operate a computer!
dont get me wrong, i've liked apple computers for over 20 years…but you'll never catch me buying one…i just cant bring myself to paying twice the cost for half the power and capabilities.
Dosent look like an iphone..thicker,,,,screens smaller,,BUTTONS and a crappy slider…look out apple….Here comes nothing…

HILARIOUS article! That old Nokia phone loaded with buttons and slides…. can't touch the Apple interface. With misleading articles like this, apparently because someone needs to dump a large block of Nokia stock (out of Apple induced panic, no doubt), it's no wonder magazines are going out of business.
